Like the bulbs sending up shoots to check for sun, Cleveland Handmade’s creative members are emerging from the snow, too. Check out these new goings-on and places to be:

Freshly opened and deeply committed to locally handmade goods, Crafty Goodness is a new shop in Lakewood that features the work of more than 60 different artists, crafters, and makers-all from North East Ohio. Visit and follow their creed, see-shop-learn, as you explore the work of your neighbors and participate in classes to help you make your own masterpieces. Offering an intimate peek into a studio where art is created as well as a small, dedicated display space, Dovecote opens for the first time with its Beware the Ides of March Art Party on Friday, March 11th, 2011 from 6pm-10:30pm. Special delicious guest, Umami Moto food truck, will be onsite for the occasion selling their authentic asian cuisine. Coming up on Friday, March 18th, 2011 is the 4th Coast Pop Up Market at 1300 Third Gallery. Held in conjunction with 78th Street Studios’ Third Friday event, the Pop Up Market features a collective of emerging local designers and artists presenting limited edition pieces. Join the artists of Cleveland Handmade at the Orange Art Center on Sunday, June 27 for another installment of the fabulous Cleveland Handmade Market. Shop for unique treasures from a variety of local artists and meet your makers in this lovely setting.

The Orange Art Center is located at 31500 Chagrin Boulevard in Pepper Pike, Ohio, just east of Lander Road and between the library and Orange High School.

Congratulations to Judy Crighton of Modern Pixie for being featured in the April issue of Cleveland Magazine. Amber Matheson did a nice profile on Judy and her jewelry line in the Style section of the magazine.

Not only that, Judy’s Tremont home was the inspiration for this past weekend’s Get the Look: Home Decor Edition of the Etsy Finds feature, which also featured a pillow from Cleveland Handmade member Gretchen of Robin’s Egg Blue.
